Jun 16, 2018 Dry blowing is not the most efficient form of gold recovery and I am sure some fine gold will not make it into the hopper. I am not too concerned by this as I dont go out to get 100 of the fine gold. I go to get the majority and move on to somewhere else. I believe chasing small amounts of fine gold is not always worth the extra effort.

Dry panning is a similar winnowing process, and is only slightly better than blanket winnowing. Shaking the pan while gently winnowing allows the gold to settle in an action similar to a jig. A far better and more successful method is dry washing, also called dry blowing in Australia.

I agree.I went for a trip with my detectors one day with mjb and mjb packed his dry blower.lets just say there was still plenty of battery power on the minelab as it got put back in the car pretty quick once I saw the blower in action there an awesome machine and quite addicting. best of luck. Feb 19, 2013 Dry Blowers have been used since the early days sometimes with a bellows attached and many people relegate them to the more arid regions such as Western Australia and even Tibooburra. The gold in Tibooburra is abundant yet fairly small so it would be an ideal application there.
